HELP - text not showing up in SCAL!!!

Ok - so I am trying to cut a bunch of these (see attached) all with different names in them- however, none of the names are showing up in SCAL and I cannot figure out why!! PLEASE HELP!!!

Also I am REALLY new to all this (if you can't tell) and couldn't find one of those really LARGE ROUND coffee/hot chocolate mugs to draw or that was already an SVG file... this was my best attempt at making a coffee mug, but if you know of a better one or would be willing to make a better one for me - please let me know!!!



(this is the kind of mug I would love to have - but different angle... but that seemed way harder for my first attempt!)

P.S. once I get the hang of it, i thik inkscape/SCAL are going to be my new best friends!

If you are typing in the names in Inkscape, did you do the "Path>Object to Path" to convert the text to outlines for SCAL?

Yeah - I have tried doing that, I have tried union... I have tried pretty much ANYTHING I can think of! It still wont show up in scal

Here is a copy of the scut file that shows up...

It also does not trace all the way around the font - but then doesn't even show up when I try to preview it... Anyone know why?

If you are hitting on the preview button that has the two pages images showing with the magnifying glass no your letters won't show but they will still cut.. If you hit on the one page preview button it shows everything that will be cut... don't worry about it not cutting the letters.. it will.... Everything that shows on the mat on the computer are the items that will be cut unless they show gray then they won't..
