I thought I was done with this, took me awhile to get it the way I wnated it, now when I open the .svg file in Inkscape, the elements are not all where I put them. I have put two screen shots together in one photo to show you where the problem lies (the items inside the red circles). The top photo is a screen shot of the .svg file which shows in Inkscape, the bottom image is the .svg as it shows up in SCAL.
What is the problem here?
I have also included the .svg file. Feel free to tamper with it.........

I've had a look at the file and no matter what I do it still has that quirk! It just doesn't like those shoes - I've even tried moving them to a different part of the page but they still end up there!
Maybe you could make two separate files and import them one at a time - could be a memeory thing.

Susibi,
Great! At least I know it's not me!! I have enough grey hair here.......
Just a thought: I took a screen shot of the correct file while open in Inkscape. Brought it into my graphics program & cleaned it up a bit. Saved out as .jpg. Brought it back into Inkscape and tried to do a trace, etc. & saved out as a .svg again with a new file name. BUT when I open this newly revised file all I get is a blank image in SCAL. Hmmmm.... am I doing something wrong with this now???
(Still learning Inkscape.......)

Re: Problem with Inkscape.......
I downloaded the file and fixed it. There were some objects that needed Path>Union.
Shari, I emailed it back to you so you can repost (my second email to you with the file attached).

Does path>union connect to ends together? Some times I get broken pieces and I don't know how to connect them together...

Re: Problem with Inkscape.......
I use it to put pieces together. Just select a node and move it to the part you want to connect it to. Sometimes I drag a piece together and it just falls into place and sometimes there will be a little piece left over which I just select the nodes (squares), move them from the main piece and delete.kkrewtea wrote:Does path>union connect to ends together? I was familiar with working with vector based software before I started with Inkscape so some of this stuff is familiar...some of it is new. The main thing is don't be afraid. When working on a file, save often when you have it like you want it. Before you make any steps that you are not sure of, SAVE. And there is always undo...you can use that until you get to the part that was right and then start over.
