Problems with Cricut after loading SCAL

I have read things from people that say after using SCAL for awhile it messes up their machine. Has anyone here had that problem. How long have some of you guys had SCAL and using it on your computer without problems? Thanks

iv'e had the program over a year, and never had a problem.
