Re: school banner
I just realized i dont want to seperate, i tried spreading it out and then saving it for cutting on SCAL. When i go into SCAL, it doesnt show it spread out. I want to use different colors of cardstock and it shows too close to each other. I hope i didnt confuse you to what i want to do?

Re: school banner
I rotated the pieces and rearranged them. It will be a snug fit, but you should be OK. If that doesn't work for you, you can either cut them a little smaller, or move some of the pieces to a different file. HTH

I looked at the file and see what you did. How would i save some of the pieces to a different file, i dont know inkscape very well so i am not sure how to take individual pieces and save them. I keep experimenting but i'm lost. Sorry but thanks for helping.

Re: school banner
I have posted a zip file on the original post (located here: http://forums.surecutsalot.com/viewtopi ... 748#p28748) for this svg that has each piece as a seperate file. Sorry I didn't post the zip file when I originally posted the scool banner svg. Hope this helps if you haven't already figured it out! BTW for future reference, to save the pieces seperately, all you need to do is:import the svg into ink, select the file, select object >ungroup(image#1) and each object will be seperate of the others(image#2). Delete all but the one object that you want to save, save it with a new name, and there you have it! Hope you can follow my instructions...LOL! If not, please let me know...

Re: school banner
What I do to save each piece is create a main folder for example Banner...Hit the blank piece of paper drawing in the left hand side of inkscape at the top and right click on my image piece and copy and paste that piece to the blank paper.. then label banner one.. Save it into the main banner folder and do the same thing with each other piece naming them banner piece 2 banner piece 3 and so on.. I find it easier to keep it all in one main folder.

Re: school banner
I prefer to save to a new file also. That way I don't have to worry about accidentally saving over the original file. Also, if you open the file rather than importing it in Inkscape you won't have to ungroup before you work with it.
