I just can't figure out!

I need someone to guide me to a tutorial that shows what to do when the ink file does not appear in SCAL. I did a thread search and did all the things one should do and the results are the same.

Please help me. Here is the file.

Soraya, this one is kind of ugly from a working standpoint. It has a Lot of groups, and some clipping too. After you get through some of that, you can see that it is made of line segments rather than shapes. I didn't look for the original pdf to see if it was easier. It looks like you need to keep ungrouping, and when it doesn't seem like that does anything, try an Object/Clip/Release. Delete extra things as they appear. Also use Outline mode and Control A, and press 4 fairly often to make sure you are seeing everything. At some point you will need to address the line segments since SCAL won't cut them right.

Here is a guide I put together and have posted before. If you end up with a lot of open paths, it may be easier to use the paint bucket tool to create new closed vectors. Set the tolerance to 2, set the grow/shrink to .5 (or whatever you need to draw the new line on top of the old one) and click once on each of the 2 closed shapes.

Check the Outline View by selecting View>Display mode>Outline
to see if it looks like what you want to cut

If the Outline View does not show as expected then...
If you imported a bitmap (jpg, png, bmp, gif, etc.) did you autotrace it?
If not, select it, then Path>Trace Bitmap
If you autotraced, did you delete the bitmap version, and not the vector version. (You will see a red x in outline mode if you accidently deleted the vector copy)
Did you convert text into objects?
If not, select text then Path>Object to Path


If the Outline View does show as expected
then
Have you ungrouped everything?
If not then select all then Object>Ungroup repeatedly until the message at bottom of screen says there are no objects to ungroup.
(You can use Path>Combine but SCAL doesn't like Grouping)
If the infobar indicates clipping, do object>clip>release

If none of that works then
-Double check that the file you imported was really an SVG. Check this (and prevent future occurences) by not selecting "All Files" in the file type menu of the Import dialog box.
-Make sure all objects are within the page boundaries. (Press 4 or View>Zoom>Drawing to check for stray objects or parts of the image that extend past the page boundaries.)
-Make sure that all shapes are converted to paths (select each shape, then Path>Object to Path)
-Make sure the image is made up of closed paths, Inkscape can not cut lines, per se.
-Resave the document as Plain SVG (as opposed to Inkscape SVG)
-Select all, then copy, then open a new document and paste.
-Select all then change the colors (click the color bar at the bottom of the screen).

This one was a little easier from the original pdf. It looks like when you have something that is clipped, it shows green lines in outline mode. There was a lot of ungrouping and clip/release to get to the basic shapes. You need to get the file down to the point where the message bar just lists paths. At that point you have a double layer, but the Path/Union to join the two halves takes care of that.

how do you know when to stop ungrouping and start object/ungroup? when should you stop ungrouping?

You need to watch both the message bar at the bottom of the Ink window, and for the green lines in outline mode. As soon as you see "Clipped" in the message bar, use Clip/Release. I also release clipping when I saw green lines, and ungroup didn't seem like it did anything. You have a PM.
