Shadow problem

Post by Sueplayingwithpaper »

Very occasionally when I chose shadow or blackout shadow the svg or letter/word I'm trying to shadow totally disappears. Sometimes it comes back by changing the shadow size but not always. Has anyone else had this problem or know how to rectify it?

I have had this problem with blackout, too and I think it has to do with the algorithm SCAL uses. It seems to depend on the image and we should probably report this is a bug if it isn't listed already. Don't know how to rectify it other than making your shadows in Inkscape, but hope someone else has a fix.

Yes this does happen quite often - I think it has to do with how much space SCAL has for the shadow size you want.

When you do your shadow and have the problem make the size of the shadow one size smaller and that can often fix it

The svg I'm having problems with is only a small bookmark and there's loads of room around it. I've tried going down to 1 and up to 4 but it disappears everytime. I've even made a 2nd svg and that's the same. :(
