I purchased SCAL when it first came out but have not used it. Is there an instruction sheet or a pretty comprehensive information site that I can go to to learn the basics? I want to cut some vinyl for some ornaments. I use Design Studio
all the time & am wondering how SCAL compares to that as far as being user friendly. Right now I really don't want to get
into Inkscape as I don't have the time to learn it. For instance, I want to type a word & need 6 copies of the same word.
On CDS, I can copy & paste the image as many times as I want. But I don't see the same kind of icons on SCAL. Do I have
to use Inkscape to do this? Also, with CDS, the cricut cuts on the mat where I position my images. Does SCAL do this also? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Kimberly

Re: New to SCAL
To copy an object in SCAL, click on an object so that it is active, then press the Ctrl and C keys at the same time, to paste, click somewhere on the mat off of the object and press the Ctrl and V keys at the same time. Then you can click somewhere else on the mat and press Ctrl and V. Repeat until you have the 6 items you want.
What ornaments do you want to cut? Are they in SVG or in SCUT format? If they are SVG, you click File, Import and find the SVG file you want to import. If they are SCUT, you click on File, Open and find the SCUT file you want to open. If they are in some other format, you will have to use Inkscape or other graphics program to convert them to SVG.
