.SVG files not opening with SCAL

I have downloaded a few svg files to try with my cricut. Why is some files have a .svg and some have .scut? And why does the .scut is the only files that I can open with my SCAL? What am I dong wrong?

.scut are Sure Cuts A Lot files that were created in SCAL.

.svg files are Scalable Vector Graphics.

To use SVG files in SCAL, you need to open up SCAL and then IMPORT not OPEN them.

You can't "open" SVG files in SCAL, you have to "import" them. Look a few words below open in your file tab.
That should let you see them.
