I'm having a problem with my lines getting breaks in them once I open my SVG file in SCAL. The breaks are right along the bounding box (the dashed line box that shows up when you have selected your image in INK). I haven't actually cut anything yet...I haven't wanted to waste anything. I'm assuming that since it's not showing a line it won't cut. The really weird thing is that sometimes when I resize the image in SCAL the breaks disappear and reappear. What's going on? Am I doing something wrong, or is this just something that happens randomly sometimes and is nothing to worry about (will cut fine anyway)?
Here's exactly what I did...In Inkscape
Opened a new file
opened a new text box (or whatever it's called)
selected text settings from the drop down
set my text settings to Pegasus and to 144 size, selected apply and then closed
I typed what I wanted my text to say (Ho and pe...separate files, both gave me the same problems)
clicked off the text so that then I could select it, then selected it
Then did the trace bitmap (even tried skipping this step once and it made no difference whether I did it or not)
Then did the object to path
Then saved as an SVG
When I opened these SVGs in SCAL I was resizing them to super size. They were pretty small when I opened them and I need to resize them to be around 6" tall letters. That's why two files..."Ho" and "pe" to spell out "Hope"...it won't fit across the mat as one word. Is it because I am resizing them to be so large?
The other thing I've noticed is when I'm working with INK that every now and then I'll get random lines streaking across my images. This is whether I'm working with text, dings, or jpegs. When I select and move the image around my screen the random lines move all over the place and sometimes I can get them to disappear. These lines don't show up on SCAL, but often it's where I will have a cut line missing.
I am running Vista (down with Vista

Anyone have any suggestions? I have a project promised on Monday and I really need to get moving on it. It's actually a wooden sign I need to cut out and paint and I wanted to use my Cricut to cut out a pattern/stencil. This would just make life so much easier.
Thanks for any help or suggestions. Everyone here is so great. I've learned so much from reading through all the forums. I can't wait to start posting some SVG files, once I get this figured out!
