I have been using SCAL for about years to cut vinyl for my business. Recently, I purchased a new computer and downloaded SCAL2 to it. Now when I try to cut I'm getting incomplete cuts. Example, Sometimes (not always) the top of an "L" will not be cut leaving it impossible to weed the vinyl. Can anyone PLEASE tell me why this is happening??? I am getting further and further behind in my orders because I am havng to use a razor knife to finish cutting out my letters and/or images. I am VERY frustrated and have emailed the company several times. They have been NO help! I'm afraid I'm going to have to purchase a regular vinyl cutter if I don't figure this out quickly!!! I really can not afford that. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Cuts Not Completing
I take it you might be using a cricut machine if not sorry but after a while they just don't perform like they used to have you tried cutting it more than once nor sure if this will cut properly if using the cricut they seem to never cut in the exact same spot the second time around. I would really hate to say it but purchacing another cutter might be the option expecially if you have been using the cricut machine excessivly they can wear out.

Have you tried using a 60 degree angle blade.. A lot of people have resorted to using that.. I don't have that problem with my cricut.. hmm..
Re: Cuts Not Completing
Rachell, I would say you might be right, but I actually went out and purchased a NEW cricut and it still cuts the same way! So, it has to be a problem with the SCAL program and not the machine. I'm wondering if when I did the update, there isn't a bug to make it not work due to legal issues? Do you think thats possible? Just seems weird that I've been cutting vinyl for years and now those same files won't cut properly. I'm VERY frustrated!Rachell wrote:I take it you might be using a cricut machine if not sorry but after a while they just don't perform like they used to have you tried cutting it more than once nor sure if this will cut properly if using the cricut they seem to never cut in the exact same spot the second time around. A 60 degree anle blade??? I've never heard of one. I've only heard of a regular blade and the deep cut blade. I did replace the regular blade which is what I've always used. Where would I find a 60 degree blade? At this point I'm willing to try anything! I'll try finding one online...Thanks! TraciSweetness4713 wrote:Have you tried using a 60 degree angle blade.. Re: Cuts Not Completing
you might want to try the 60 degree blade and a new mat but if it still happens contact Craftedge as they can still offer help just can't sell the scal2 version, I have just tried cutting to the cricut with scal 2 and have not had issues but I don't use the cricut much as I have other cutters I use most of the time but as the others have said try the sixty degree. and what number are you setting the blade holder on ?

I buy the 60 degree blades on Ebay all the time, that is all I use. The company is Seiki Tech and the web page is http://www.seikitech.com. The 60 degree ones are the ones with the red plastic cap cover. They are a 5 pack of blades and come in a closed plastic case. I cut on my Cricut E and have hardly any problems with cutting. Sometimes paper makes a difference but when I cut vinyl it went very smooth. Hope this helps. They truly make a difference.TheresaTT wrote:ebay has the 60 blades. type in Roland 60 degree blade. The 60 degree blade was originally put out there for use in the deep cut blade holder but many prefer it over the regular ones

Hi Traci
I agree about SCal2 I never had good cuts from it, always blaming the ce I bought in dec 2010 with CE now upgraded to scal3 with my new cutter BC. Scal3 does not perform well, can't place paper to cut in the right place, asked by email why was'nt there tutorials on scal3 they and I quote 'BC were slow in producing information on this' and tutorials would be forth comming in the future
. I have now bought MTC and my cutting problems are being resolved one by one
. I'm sorry if my response upsets people on here but the truth needs to be said.
