Memorial Day, U.S. & Japan

I cheated on this project as I embellished a photo. An interesting fact about the D.C. cherry trees: In 1912, the people of Japan sent 3,020 cherry trees to the United States as a gift of friendship. I think we should pay it forward & give them trees to help rebuild after the tsunami.

I'd like to Thank and Pray for all the troops & their families that are serving our country and who have served. You're awesome!!!!! Please pray for my nephew as he is in Afghanistan now.

The card is beautiful and I join you in saluting all of our troops, past and present. Freedom is not free, thank you all for the gift of my freedom!

Your card is really beautiful. Good idea to embellish the picture. Thanks so much for acknowledging the military. My hubby is retired Army and spent half his life serving and protecting our country. When he got out it seemed a natural step to go work at TSA. He felt it was a continuation of protecting people. Unfortunately the way they are often treated is not so nice. Some travelers act like they are scum. It's really sad. The majority of them are committed to the public's safety and work hard to ensure it. Oh well, sorry I got off track. Thank your nephew for his service and I said a prayer for him and will continue to do so. Also, love your blog. Your work is amazing.

Thanks everyone. Mamajo, Thanks for your prayers and I will pray for your husband and tell him thank you for serving our country for so long from me and my ex marine husband. That's a tough job and we all get irritable traveling but as you point out we need to remember they are there for our protection.
