Re: Cricut craft room
I've seen this posted on the Cricut mb. From what I've read it going to work like Design Studio (but a fancier version) where you need the cartridge to cut out a shape. It will still not be as useful as SCAL but much better than Design Studio (in my opinion).

I am not interested to link to their website to use this...it does not sound like SCAL where we can use it off-line.
Re: Cricut craft room
I am still amazed that people are excited about this. I think the only thing useful about Cricut Craft Room is that I may be able to utilize my cartridges, I think I have 5. They are so hard to work with at the cricut level. But I will try the cricut crap I mean craft room for this only. I won't be tempted to hit up the craft stores for more cartridges though, I have the know on where to get free svgs...HERE!

Cricut Craftroom is very limited,IMHO> It's only allowed to cut with your linked cartridges, like the Gypsy is...design with all carts, cut only with linked carts.
You can't really use it unless you are online with their site.
Their site, which will be on server MB, is habitually slow already before Craftroom is even hooked into it.
And some of us are concerned that it may be once you are hooked into Craftroom that you can no longer cut on a Cricut using our SCAL program. There is a lot of scuttlebut about them stopping unauthorized programs from cutting on the Cricut thru this Craftroom. So I'm passing on this one for sure.

Re: Cricut craft room
Obviously, the firmware on our Cricuts would have to be updated for PC to put a block on our machines that would prevent us from cutting with SCAL. They were smart enough to program the Gypsy to encode carts so that they couldn't be loaded onto another Gypsy, so it will be interesting to see if they have come up with something that would mess up our machines. Since I won't ever need to update my firmware on my machine, I'm not too worried.

Not something I would be spending my money on.. I guess like design studio you would still need to have that particular cartridge to use with that particular feature.. Something else Provocraft decided to copy and claim it as their idea..
... I was checking out their new expression 2 as well and not something I would be spending my hard earned?? money on either.. I'll stick with the one I have until it dies ...

I agree with all of you. Can't see what's the deal. I'm a dummy when it comes to SCAL but compared to the user unfriendly DS I look brilliant.
Not interested... wonder what's the real deal with this software??
