I'm defeated...font problem

Post by pastda3 »

I think my brain is on sensory overload. I think I'm making a simple problem more difficult than it needs to be. Using Amp, I temporarily installed A&S Christmas Script font. I was trying to weld and shadow the word "Christmas," in SCAL, but the "m" would disappear each and every time I tried to shadow. I had this brainy idea of trying to look at it in Inkscape, but I don't even know how to get the text to show up. I clicked on the font window and found the Christmas font, but it kept reverting to "sans." I tried looking at the tuts, but as I said, I think my brain just can't function anymore. Can anyone help? TIA. Maybe I just need to back off for awhile to clear my head. :?

Try changing the size of the shadow. I was using a font that hid all of the r's in the word when the shadow was set at the default of 3. When I cahnged it to 2, it worked great.

Kaesmom -

Thank you for the reply. I tried as you suggested and nothing seemed to work. I printed out a tutorial on fonts & inkscape. When I get a chance, I'm going to try to play with it some more. At this point, it's become somewhat of a challenge. :P

The latest version of Inkscape gives us the blues when trying to change fonts.

I type the first letter, select it, go to Text>Text and Font (or the T on the top menu), change to the font I want, Select as Default (bottom of the window), Apply, Close.
