If I use gypsy will scal stop working?

I read on someone's website that when they used their gypsy with their cricut they had to do an update to their cricut and scal stopped working correctly. Does anyone know if this is still the case? I have a gypsy and I am afraid to use it if I can't use scal2 anymore.

not that I am aware of. I have used my gypsy and scal 2 just this week and had no problems with either one.
