I made a monogram in Inkscape and when I try to open it in SCAL I get an error box that says failed to open svg file. Is there a special way I should be saving the file in inkscape. I am very new to all of this. Thanks for your help.

Re: Opening an InkScape File
What versions of SCAL and Inkscape are you using? Also, are you Opening the svg or Importing it?

Re: Opening an InkScape File
I have SCAL 2.0 and Inkscape I downloaded last night. I saved the file in Inkscape as .svg and then tried to import it in scal.
Re: Opening an InkScape File
When I use Inkscape on my PC at home, I have to save my files as Plain SVG and not Inkscape SVG.
If nothing else seems to work, you might try that.

Re: Opening an InkScape File
What version of SCAL2 are you using? There were some compatibility issues between some updates of SCAL and Inkscape.
What were you working with in Inkscape? Was it an image, font, or other? Everything that you want to cut in SCAL must be converted to Path before saving as svg.

SCAL is version 2.012.
I was working with a font. It doesn't seem to matter how I save it scal has a failure when opening.

If it is a font, you need to select it, then use Path/Union or Path/Object to path before you import it into SCAL.

Re: Opening an InkScape File
I think its a compatibility problem with inscape svg's. I am having the same problem opening svgs saved from inkscape, but not with svgs saved from coreldraw.
