HELP sure cuts a lot errors when cutting

Im having the worst day when it comes to using my sure cuts a lot program. I just installed my cd onto my new computer, cut once perfectly, and when I went to cut a second time, It goes to the little screen that pops up says "checking mat..." and then sits there, and eventually another window pops up saying "an error occured when trying to cut" aaaahhhhhhhhh I tried restarting both my computer and cricut, but the same thing happens when I try to cut. Please help.............I don't know what else to try. Thanks soo much in advance.

Get in touch with Todd at Craftedge, he can usually diagnose the things pretty quickly.

Since you installed from a CD you might try the download from the CE website. Your version might not be up to date. Also, since it is a new install, did it ask you for your Cricut/firmware version? If it not, go to Edit/Prefences and click on the Cutter tab. De-select the Remember Cricut and Firmware selection. If that works for you and you only cut from one machine, you can go back into the preferences and have it remember your setup. HTH

I was having the same problem and what I did to was followed the above instructions going into the Edit column De-select the Remember Cricut and Firmware selection mine was not selected, however I changed the print speed to Medium. That seems to work for my 1st try.

Well, I guess that did not fix the problem as mine again stopped and is checking the matt

My sister had a problem like this, so I looked at her Scut design in SCAL2. It turned out that she had part of the design in the area outside of her mat. Once we broke apart the design and moved the part that was outside of the mat to a new layer in the mat, she was able to cut the design. I don't know if this is a design that you have cut before and this may not be the problem. It was just something else to look for. Kim

When I go to demonstrate SCAL this weekend, I will be installing the software from a CD for the first time on my friend's computer. She has Windows 7 as her operating system. I sure hope I don't run into any problems.
