Totally Off Topic-Caramel Corn

Post by talanhart »

I know this isn't SCAL Related, but I have to post this link. I love Caramel Corn and I love Molasses. I think this is the first time that I have ever seen Molasses used in a recipe for Caramel Corn, so I thought I would share it with everyone.

I probably won't even buy the scouts popcorn this year, I haven't seen a list yet, but it has gone up so bad in the last few years, I really think I am done with buying it. Our local troops do alot of other fundraisers and they get to keep all the money they earn from them, where with the popcorn a large portion goes to council

I always thought that carmel corn was made with molasses I have never made it,cause I git all I need from Cracker Jacks LOL

Really? We were told that we get a lot more from the popcorn than our usual greenery sale. That's why our pack is selling popcorn this year in addition to the greenery.

I will double check the numbers but that is why we quit selling it after the prices started going up every year. But I THINK I was told that council get 1/3. I know that it all goes for a good purpose and the boys love winning those prizes.

Our boys do alot of different things like the next money maker they have is they have been hired by a local boutique that is having a craft show and they are going to be gophers to help vendor load and unload their stock, Then help reload it. During the day quite often they receive donations from the vendors for a job well done

So I'm on my way out the back door and the front doorbell rings just as I push the garage door opener button. I go outside my backdoor and there are two Cub Scouts and their dads selling popcorn at my front door. I bought a bag of the popcorn. $10.00. The dad tells me that the his son thinks that when you push the front doorbell, the garage door opens. Too funny!
