I just tried to use my own file and it didn't work.
Sorry about that people. I know I have edited Text in a Circle files before even after they were saved as SVG. Not sure why this isn't working.
It's gone until I figure something out.

Re: Text in a Circle Template
Thank you so much! I've been wanting to do this for a long time, but my version of SCAL doesn't do it. I think the newest version was capable of it, but I also think that was the version a lot of people were having problems with so I never downloaded it. I can't wait to use it

I did download 2.011, but I had a problems with it so I went back to 2.010. I'm afraid to try it again, but it does have some cool features that would be nice. I really wish I had a hard copy of the software that I could install and uninstall when I redo my system without having to email for a new serial number. I feel like I'm being dishonest or something.

Re: Text in a Circle Template
I tried to use it today, but couldn't get it to work. I'm sure it is something I am doing-- or not doing for that matter. When I opened it in SCAL, it was a 1000 points off the mat on the x and y. It wouldn't let me put in an x or y value to move it either. I opened it in Inkscape and resaved it because that has happened before and this usually works. When I opened it in SCAL again, it said that it has words or images that were not found, but it would try to open it anyway. When it opened, I had a circle. That's it. Any idea what I'm doing wrong? I use SCAL 2.010

If you are using Todd's template, you need to use Inkscape to change the text to what you want, select the text, then Path/Union. Select just the circle in the middle and delete it. Then you can import the file into SCAL for cutting.

Re: Text in a Circle Template
Ok, finally got around to trying to use this and obviously I'm doing something wrong. Help! I've tried two ways, first I just selected and typed the exchange word as is on the circle itself. The other way was to double click and have the font screen pop up, so I could change the words both ways. In both situations, my new wording did show up on the screen but in a diagonal line. Is there a step I'm missing to make the template work? Do I still have to path, then text to path?
Oh, and I'm working in Inkscape 0.47

Dumb question alert. Where is text in a path?
