Font with open centers

Post by MacMom »

I hope I can explain this well enough that you can help me. I'm looking for a font that I can use to make custom photo mats. The words would be cut out of the mat instead of cut out of another paper and applied to the mat). The problem I have is that it's a big PITA to place all the individual cutouts that a lot of letters have. For example: If I have an "a" I have to add the little circle that forms the "inside" of the "a". (also letters like b, d, e, g, o, p, q)

Not sure what that kind of font is called (open font??). I know the difference between sarif and sans serif but I can't find anything on Google.

EDIT: I guess I'm looking for something along the lines of a stencil font but doesn't look all military.

I have a post on stencil fonts here

but you might want to look at a font Denise made specifically for photo mats.

Kay, can I just say how much I'm loving you right now!! :D The first font you posted was perfect!!! I just checked out your blog and you are a mind reader. I'm really new to the Cricut/SCAL scene and wondered about printing something and then having Cricut cut it out. I failed horribly but your tutorial makes perfect sense. I can't wait to use that info to make craft projects for my kiddos!
