Looking for an A2 envelope for my baby bug

Post by justforfun »

I just bought the SCAL and am having a great time playing -- welding words and matting. Now, I would LOVE to find a file for an A2 envelope template to cut on my baby bug.
Anyone have any ideas where I might be able to get one?

I am absolutely thrilled to have found this forum and thanks everyone for sharing!

You can design any size envelope you want by using the shapes within SCAL. Create your design, save it as a "Project" (which creates a .scut file).

An A2 size card is 5-1/2 x 4-1/2. So the envelope needs to be just a hair larger at about 5.625 x 4.375 completed with the top flap closed. An unfolded envelope needs to be about 6.125 inches high (this is if you need 1/4 inch for side flaps to seal the envelope shut) by 8.75 inches long (actually longer because I didn't add in the flap that is folded over to seal the envelope with the card inside). The actual mat cutting size is 5.5 inches by 11.5 inches. Once a shape is outside the dotted lines on the virtual mat, they don't cut. (At least the Preview doesn't show the lines to cut.)

So... I honestly don't see how a standard A2 envelope can be made with the baby bug - which I also own. If we had the Expression machine, I don't think this would be a problem at all.

It could be there's another way to make an envelope. My head is still full of cobwebs because I'm not fully awake yet. ;)

Thanks sboz and Kimberly for your replies. Kimberly, I actually realized the flaw in my question after I posted my question! I realized that the mat is too small to cut an A2 envelope. I guess I can make an envelope as big as I can fit on the baby bug mat, and then cut my A2 size card a bit to make it fit in the envelope! :D
Thanks again for taking the time to answer my question!

Thanks so much, Kimberly! I can really use your envelope file! I love to send cards in envelopes that are cut from the same patterned paper that I use on the card!! Sure makes them stand out!

Hi, I am new here and to Cricut. I have downloaded the A-2 envelope but how do I get it into SCAL? It only wants to import SVG files. Thanks, Linda

1. click on the link
2. click save, and browse to where ever you are saving all your SCAL files
3. click ok
4. In SCAL, File, Open Project (instead of importing) - then just browse to where you saved it
