I guess I will put my two cents in, in the interest of moving forward and moving on. In the future, possibly what those of us who have been regulars here or are becoming regulars here can just open a new topic to discuss issues we may find that come up rather than making assumptions about what another member here is doing with what they are asking for help on./quote]
People shouldn't be deterred from expressing their opinions on issues on this forum and I think your idea is a better way for all of us to go about expressing our thoughts and opinions on an issue.
Thanks,
Syl

Thank you syl That was my point, the copyright issue is an important one for us to discuss here. But we just shouldn't grab an individual member's request as a chance to discuss it. Let's discuss it because it needs it in a place made especially for it. I do not like that people decided they would never bring it up again, that was not my point at all. Because if a copyright violation is wrong, I'm not seeing the difference in a request here that is sent in pm vs. one on the board that is shared on the board. Kinda like saying it's okay for your 14 year old to smoke as long as you don't see him. (and yes, I am joking)

[quote="My personal 2 cents on the whole Martha Stewart thing is, if Martha, with all her billions, can't be bothered to design a paper punch that works, and she is charging the ridiculous fee of $25 for one punch, then that punch should work properly. If it doesn't well, I think she deserves to lose the money. That may make some people on this forum angry but that's how I feel about it. MS border punches and single punches are exorbitantly expensive. Fine, they have a right to charge what they want. But, my opinion is, the increased cost should result in either superior quality or at least average quality, ie. it should *work*. If this punch had done what it was supposed to do, I wouldn't have posted. And I bet you anything had I tried to contact them about it, I would have gotten the big corporation "too bad", to put it politely."

Well stated! I have Martha Stewart punches and find they are total garbage! With Inkscape we can copy a lot of things. Perhaps Martha could go after the makers of Inkscape for enabling us haha.

Looking at this design, I seriously doubt that Martha Stewart or anybody else for that matter has a copyright on it. This is a very basic design that I doubt would even be allowed to have a copyright. There is no brand recognition associated with this design, so I doubt they would even bother.

Thanks Todd, I wanted to say that, but then deleted it before I posted. While identifiable images Should be respected, people have been rotating circles around a centerpoint for a very long time (the earliest known was somewhere around 600 BC). I know that I was doing that for a quilting pattern before I ever heard of Martha Stewart.
