Hello! Real name is Linda but in forum's I go by the daft name of gentleflower a cross I have to bear!!
Anyway I normally create gsd files but a friend ask me to convert one to SGV and pointed me in this direction! Took a quick in here last night and after reading a few posts found I could convert my templates - so thank you for the help!
Well - howdy doody Linda - great to see you over here- as usual I'm into the Inkscapey things!
You'll love this little program -let's you design and cut with your Cricut exactly as we can with ROBO and Co.

I only have robo so working somewhat in the dark converting my templates for other cutters buy hey another road to travel on! Friend at the moment testing my Gate of Hearts - so fingers cross lol.
I thought those that I have shared in UKS might be useful in SVG?
Welcome Gentleflower (Linda)! This is a really great group of talented people, of which I am NOT!!!!) Keep those SVG files coming because I just cannot seem to master INKSCAPE......... Look around.....there is a wealth of info on this board!! Again............WELCOME!
I'm getting better! I've actually done a few things in inkscape. I've done a decent trace, I've deleted some nodes, I've moved some nodes and liney things to make it look better! Now is there a way to add a line or nodes when something doesn't connect...Remember I learn best when you speak toddler!
When in Edit Nodes, the very first icon (+) on the nodes menu bar is for adding nodes. Move your cursor over each icon and it will give a description for the nodes. I use the ones that change the node type most often as they allow you to more easily change the shape. If you run into a node with a retracted line (line only on one side) or no lines at all, just put the tip of the cursor near the node and move the cursor just a tad and a line should appear (might take practice but have patience). It you move too much the line will be long and you will have to find the end (should have a red nose).
Connecting lines can be tricky also. Sometimes I move the lines together and they just fall in place and sometimes I have to delete the inner part. In the photo below, I moved two sections together my grabbing a node and moving it into the part I wanted to join and then Path>Union. I make it a point not to cross a node so you might have to delete a node (second icon -). In this case, I have to delete the section. If you notice the nodes where the paths crossed look different...just select the nodes, delete and then delete the little section.
