Where can I get the best buy?

Post by Lola »

I have looked all over for black contact paper. It simply isn't to be found in our stores. I checked Micheals Joanns Hobby Lobby . Home Depot. Lowes. Dollar General. Where online can I get the best deal on buying it. Also I am wanting frosted.

I'm sorry you can't find it closeby. Maybe try other places like online? Ask a friend in a different town to check her stores and meet you halfway? I know how frustrating it is to find one specific item. (I'm still on a quest for a perfect cookie jar for my dad-in-law)

Maybe find another member on this board who lives near you who will be more than happy to check her/his stores nearby.

Just throwing ideas out for ya. :-)

Any reason why Black Vinyl wouldn't work?

I haven't been able to find some locally either. I found this on line the other day on Amazon. I haven't ordered any yet, but I read the reviews and a couple folks have used it with good results. http://www.amazon.com/Black-Contact-Pap ... f=cm_wl_ce I am thinking for tiles and glass etching I might try using contact paper. And for wall decor and stuff like that stick to vinyl.

For those who have used both, what would you say are some of the pros and cons of using contact paper? And how much money do you really save using contact paper over vinyl? Is it really that much?

Thank you,
Syl

I heard that contact paper was cheaper than oracle 631. All I have here right now is the sign vinyl and I know I cant cut anything for walls with that to apply directly. I was trying to take the easy way out posting for ideas where online to get contact paper. I looked all over yesterday for this, although I did end up with some cuttle bug folders so I can texture paper. I saw where you can use a rolling pin and well I am all bout thrifty . :) (had 40% off coupons as well )

You should be able to use the 40% off coupon at JoAnns for the Cricut vinyl. If you aren't going to use too much, that is probably better than paying for shipping.

They can be used for things like blades, mats, and vinyl at JoAnn's. Michaels doesn't allow them to be used for anything Cricut.

Have you tried EBay? They have a ton of it on there, I also searched frosted too, and a few came up for that as well. If you're lucky enough, might even get them from the same seller, and save some shipping.
