Help with Saving Files

Post by immrswilliams »

Hello all! I am still quite new to all of this and have ran into a small problem. I am sure it's an easy fix but I'm not sure what I am doing wrong. When I click on a file to save to my computer, if it is a zip file it saves without any problem. However, many times, when it is a single file, it appears to only save the internet page I found the file on. I mean, it saves as if it is an Internet Explorer file. It's not a file that can be cut.

This seems to be a problem that has recently developed. I don't know if I have changed a setting on my computer or if I need to download an update or newer program of some sort. UGH! Help! Thanks!

This is an internet browser issue. Make sure that your browser settings are set to prompt you for saving. When the save dialog box appears, check to be sure that the file type is either listed as "All files", "scaleable vector graphic" or "svg document". You may need to change the extension back to svg. One of the browsers I use always tries to save them as xml docs. HTH
