Lost Lost Lost!!!
I created a flag last night in inkscape as directed by the inkscape manual to get use to some of the features. All went fine. I am back in inkscape tonight and things look different. I am trying to do something as simple as drag a create a circle in the center of the mat and the cursor no longer drags -- it creates little boxes and circles every time I release my mouse as I am TRYING to drag. Did I change settings last night or something when I did the walk through tutorial. I am very very new (like this week) to inkscape and scal.

Relax, paintit, we've all been there
Be sure you have the selection tool (firsat arrow at top of tool bar) active when you want to drag. If you have a shape tool active it will draw new shapes instead.

Oooohhhhh!!!! I am just so excited about the possibilities of SCAL and Inkscape. I love to scrapbook and have always been restricted to the shapes on my limited number of cricut cartridges. I feel like I am learning so much by watching all the tutorials and then I get stumped on something soooooo simple. Thank you for your time -- I will keep exploring Inkscape and learn as much as I can!!!!

I am having a similar problem tonight. My circle tool won't work either. I have been working with some tutorials on creating spirals and the circle tool worked earlier today but now it doesn't. Is there any hope for me?

Try going to "view">"Display mode">"outline" and see if you have any circles or can make any circles that way.judyjo wrote:I am having a similar problem tonight. My circle tool won't work either. Re: Lost Lost Lost!!!
Thank you missiethegal for your quick response. Somehow I was able to fix it very quickly by going to the tool bar just above the selection arrow and changed some settings. I am so thrilled to have all of you very helpful people there to help me as I am attempting to learn this program.
