I want to finally upgrade to scal2. I'm tired of scal1 erroring out in the middle of working on it.
Do I need to uninstall scal1 to upgrade to 2 ? How does it work?

Re: question re:scal2
I did not uninstall SCAL1. I just upgraded using my serial # which meant I only had to pay $35 for SCAL2. I still have SCAL 1 on my computer though I don't know why you would need it. When I upgraded and downloaded, it loaded a whole new program and icon on my desktop. I've only had 2 since Thursday, and not much time to play, but so far, I like it a lot! I was able to trace 2 images with the tracing option--pretty easily done. (I've never really tried to master inkscape, so this was a great addition, in my opinion!) One of the images was for my son's high school mascot which would be impossible to find anywhere....I saved an icon off of the school website and traced it with no problem! That alone sold me!!!

I downloaded scal1 from craft edge themselves..I don't know where I would find my serial number. I send them a message for a lost serial number and they don't recognize my email address. I am so mad!

Re: question re:scal2
I kept both SCAL1 and SCAL2. They are two separate programs and who knows when you might need the original one? Better safe than sorry.

Can you u se the svg files on scal2 that are in scal 1?
Re: question re:scal2
I kept the SCAL 1. I think I prefer it over the SCAL2. The shadow feature in SCAL doesn't work, and that's the feature I use the most.

I have both on my laptop at home, but I have only played with 2. I still use 1 for cutting my vinyl.

Thanks for the help...just one more question..if I can use the fonts/images in my scal1....how do I get to it? Does it show up in the libray in scal2 like it would scal1?
