stumped by Inkscape

I recently installed both Inkscape 0.47 and SCAL 2.0 for Mac on my computer and was having good luck with most images until now. I downloaded a stained glass pattern that is a black and white line drawing into Inkscape and not matter what I have tried (paint bucket and break apart path) I cannot get the image to display without double lines in outline view. Can someone take a look at my image and help me troubleshoot this? TIA!

The reason for the double lines is because of the stained glass effect.. Those pieces inside the double lines are the parts that will be cut out....with your cricut... you'll have an outline of the flowers and pregnant belly... I cleaned up the file for you as there were a lot of little dots in there that would have made the image a mess when cut out...

Okay, so this is what it looks like when I import it into SCAL. Its like the layers aren't lined up. Can anything be done to make this work??

All you need to do is open the svg file back up in Ink47, select the artwork, and from the menu use Path/Union. That is one of the changes from Ink46 to Ink47. Ink47 usually requires Path/Union for SCAL to read the vectors right. HTH

Argh! This is so frustrating...it looks worse than it did before I imported it the second time. What the heck and I doing wrong? Is there any way to just have single cutting lines or increase the size between the double lines?

I used Control J (Dynamic offset) on JoAnne's file. I also simplified the nodes and cleaned up a few more spots. This file should work fine in SCAL. Anytime you want to make lines thicker or thinner (with a single path/vector), you can use Control J and drag the little white square in to make the lines thinner, or out to make the lines thicker. After that you need to use Path/Union to create a vector that SCAL can use. HTH

Well, I tried out the version that was modified using dynamic offset and it worked great! I cut 3 layers and just re-assembled the parts. I love the stained glass look.
