I'm a Macuser and have downloaded INKSCAPE 0.47...updated X11...installed them.....everything seemed working OK.
My problem is:
when I make a vector image and want to save it as a svg file...I select it, copy it from the menu... open another new file...for example A4 landscape...paste it....THEN:
it pates ONLY AS AN IMAGE...not as a path or vector.......Can't believe that I need to convert it to a path again....
Whataheck I'm doing wrong?????
TIA,
paulo

Paulo,
Go under x11> preferences (not Inkscape preferences), click on the Pasteboard tab, and check the first, third and fourth boxes, uncheck the others. That should take care of it.

Yep. This bit me too. Very annoying. Getting the settings mentioned right solves the problem.
