I finally give up

Post by Logazino »

I have been trying for the past 2 hours to seperate an image in inskape. I have only been working with my cricut for a few weeks and I am completely lost. I have read through a couple of tutorials but I think I am just confusing myself :( Would someone be please help me with this file? It is a baby chick that I need to help my 2nd grader finish his story board for school. Thanks so much in advance

Open the file in Inkscape, select the image, then Object/Ungroup. After that you can move the pieces to where you want them. Also, the eyes are unconverted ellipses so select them, then Path/Object to path. The message bar at the bottom of the Inkscape window is your friend and it will tell you what you are working with and why something isn't working.

I have attached a version of your file for you. I haven't created any layers, but unless you are cutting this very large, it should all fit on one mat. HTH
