help !explain to me how to do :

can anyone explain to me how to take a photo of my son and turn it into an svg so i can cut it out in vinyl please ?

the steps will depend on your photo editing software. google your software and stencil. "how to make a stencil in PSP" for instance.

I also have some tutorials listed towards the bottom of this page that may help.

Use the magic wand and other selection tools to select the outline of what you want. Sometimes it's easier to select the outside of your shape and then use "invert selection" to select what you want.

Then use "selection to paths" or whatever it is called these days to convert your selection to "paths". Save or Export the paths to Illustrator. This will create a .ai file that can be opened in Inkscape and saved as SVG. Clean up the path in Inkscape - probably using the "Simplify" command to reduce the number of nodes.

Use Photoshop's built in help system to search for some of the keywords and phrases above. That should get you the detailed steps.
