I have a question about the update of the cricut firmware wich was released on november the 4th. Will my Scal 2 still work when I update my firmware?
I really need to know that fast, since a friend of me just bought a cricut and she wants to buy SCal too, but if it won't work with the new firmware it's of no use of course.

Ok, did you download the CDS update and installed it and then you cut? Or did you also update your firmware?
I'm asking this because a friend of mine just bought the Big E. And if you want to use the Big E for the first time in combination with the CDS software, as soon as you start up your CDS demands that you update your firmware as well, so not only the software. If the new firmware isn't the correct firmware, it's possible that scal 2 isn't working since Scal 2 is reuiring firmware version 2.3 . So what I really want to know if Profocraft still has the same firmware version or if they next to the new software update they also updated their firmware?

Help!!! LOL
I am still new to scal so I might not completely know what I am doing BUT its not working for me since the update on the 4th! The cricut I have is the expression. Any tricks or ideas on what to do to get it to work again. I was so frustrated when this happened since I just bought scal not even a month ago!
Thank you so much for any help you can give!

This is what I got from the cricut forum (I don't understand why the makers from scal are not responding to these questions.
You don't need any files open to do this
First thing is to go to your start menu
click on my computer
click on local disk c:
click on program files
click on cricut software
click on cricut design studio
click on firmware releases
There will be about 5 or so files that come up - look for two files that say cricut v2_34.enc and cricut v2.benc
For the one labeled cricut v2_34.enc right click and select rename. What you will do is add an a right after the 4 so it will look like this now cricut v2_34a.enc
click away from that and right click on the next folder labeled cricut v2_34b.enc. right click and choose rename. What you do here is only REMOVE the b.
Once you have done this open design studio and update your firmware and then all should be good to go. Good Luck everyone.
Give this a try and see if it helps.
