... but that's nothing new. LOL
Here is my question, I found some cute .cut files that I would like to cut. Can I
do that with SCAL or do I need DS? do they need to be converted in inkscape?
I have not upgraded to SCAL 2.0 yet but if I do, can I convert a .cut file to
an svg in version 2?
TIA,
Pam

Re: I'm confused...
Nope, you can't use .CUT files in SCAL. That is a DS file extension.
SCAL file extension are .SVG (files made in Inkscape & "imported" into SCAL) and .SCUT (files saved in SCAL which can be "opened").
The only way to turn a .CUT file into an .SVG is to open it is DS, take a screenshot of it, & remove the background in Inkscape or other paint program.

Thanks for the info! Now another question,
do you have to have the cartridge that the cut
file was created with to be able to cut it with
design studio? Does that make sense?
Thanks again, pam

Yes, you do need the cart. If you have scrapbook stores nearby, check to see if they rent carts. I have one (sort of) nearby that rents them for $7 a week. HTH
