separating pieces in svg files for mat layout

Post by luv to craft »

Hi. I am new to SCAL and these forums. Is there anyway to select and separate the pieces in the svg files I have downloaded in order to lay them out on different sections of the mat, to cut different colours? Any help would be appreciated. thanks.

There are so many excellent tutorials and info on this board. It takes a little time and practice, but eventually it will all come together.

Kay is a guru. Check out her blog:

This is a pretty good tutorial I just found on the boards:

Thanks, I actually just checked that video. It is very good. But what I was wondering is if it is possible after downloading the svg sets that have more than one piece in the set, to select each piece and move it to a different spot on the mat, i.e. the diaper pins I downloaded. I would like to be able to cut the pieces out separately and make different sizes. Or do you have to leave them where they are placed in the set and figure our where to place your different colours on the mat? (I hope you can understand what I mean, I'm not very good at explaining things.) Appreciate any advice.
