SVG vs. SCUL
SVG vs. SCUL
What are the differences between the different type of files for the program. Is one just for Sure Cuts a Lot? Is one just for using in Inkscape? I just can't figure it out and what am I suppose to be looking for.

Re: SVG vs. SCUL
.scut files are native to scal. They can't be opened by double-clicking for some reason but once scal is open you choose file>OPEN then navigate to a .scut file.
.svg is an open source vector file, native to inkscape and readable by SCAL. You will find thousands of svgs on the internet, but not all of them are made for cutting. The best idea is to download ones you find on this site until you get the hang of what works and what doesn't.
With SCAL open, you choose IMPORT svg and navigate to the proper location to import an svg.
So remember to OPEN SCUT files and IMPORT SVG files.
Files you save in SCAL will be .scut files and files you save in Inkscape will be .svgs
