Hi
I have several svg files that I want to combine into one svg file. But when I try to copy and paste from one to the other it will not paste. I have tried both pasting to an existing svg and also opening a new file in Inkscape and trying to paste to it and neither work.
Can it be done? If so what am I doing wrong?
Thanks
Raewyn

Ink is quirky about copy/paste. Open one of your files you want to work with. From the menu of the open document, open the other document. You can now copy and paste between them. Anytime you want to copy between files you have to open them from the same session, just opening a new one from your start menu or desktop won't work. Hope I'm being clear.

Thanks Heather.
Worked perfectly - I had just successfully done what you had advised without knowing it and was about to post back here that I had achieved what I wanted.
So thanks for that and yes made perfect sense.

The only time I have had this problem was when I forgot to use the selection tool on what I wanted to paste.

I always use File/Import when I want to combine two separate files.
