making dotten lines with inkscape

how can you make a dotted line with inkscape? I made a spiral and some lines and wanted to convert them into dotted lines but cann't get it :oops:

help please

If your created the line as a stroke, you can change the stroke style using the edit objects command shown in the screen shot, edit your stroke style to a dash or dot and then select the image and use Path|Stroke to Path to convert your stroke to a vector that can then be cut with SCAL. Note that you may need to increase the width of your stroke to get a decent cut.
