Summer?!?

Post by DesignedbyFaye »

I am looking for anything that would represent summer. I have looked in my font files and can't seem to find anything. A beach ball, beach umbrella, glasses...etc......Any help would be greatly apprecated. Thanks

Try here. There are some SVG files and jpeg files you can convert in Inkscape. This is a great site as they are getting more and more SVG files added to it.

How do you look at the ones that appear as Fichior GSD? There are some really nice designs. I don't think I am seeing all that is there.

You can't see the ones that are GSD. Just stick to the jpeg ones and svg ones. GSD is for another cutting machine. I think there has been some discussion on the forum on how to convert GSD to SVG. Maybe put GSD in the search engine on this forum.

Am I too simple to understand how to save these files? They have so many I'd like to save, but I'm unclear on how to save them as my own .svg files.

I think I have it sorted.
When you see the little thumb nails on the screen click on the one you want (preferably svg format) then it will open a new screen with details of the file, click on the thumb nail image there as well and it comes up asking if you want to save or open.

If the picture is in a jpeg format, just right click and save as. I save everything to my desk top so I can find it easy and then drag and drop to a desiginated folder. I have several folders set up in My Documents : Future svg files (where I put all pictures and jpeg files for future Inkscape working) 2008 SVG files ( where I put svg files already made. I download these to my desk top also so I can find them and drag them to the file.) I put the year first in the file name so it is close to the top in MY Documents. If the Crafty Robo site has the same picture three times in a row, usually the last one is the svg file. If it says Fichier svg, you left click on that red square and it will take you to another page and in the description it will say "coeur_serviette.svg" (this is just an example) then left click on the red svg box, that will take you to a full picture of the item. Right click on that item and "Save Page AS" .Sometimes you will get a down load box and you can also" Save As" and put it in the file you want. This is what I save to my desk top. All you will get is the little Inkscape icon with the name of the file under it. Since these are in french, you can right click on it and change the name to something you can understand. You might want to set up some files in MY Documents to say SVG Christmas, SVG animals, SVG kitchen, etc to help you find your files easier. Once you have your image with the little INkscape logo, all you have to do is open SCAL and import that image. If you want to tweak it more, you can import it into Inkscape, tweak it and save it as an SVG file. Hope this is clear and understandable.
