Hi-
I am having trouble moving the image I want to cut away from the red square that surrounds my image. If any part of my image is touching the red part, it wont cut completely. Can anyone help a newbie.
Thanks
Heidi

Re: Red Square
Heidi, we need more information in order to help you.
Are you in SCAL?
Is it an SCAL file (scut) or an Inkscape file (.svg) that you are working with?
If you could take a picture of the screen and post it or attach the file someone might be able to unravel the problem. We love challenges

Re: Red Square
Hi Susan-
Sorry, I guess I was half asleep when I was posting this. I am using SCAL. I am attaching the file. It came from
http://mesharingwithu.blogspot.com/2008 ... -base.html
It is the honey comb/nested circle image.
Raewyn64 directed me to a different file that should work. But I still want to figure out why the file isnt cutting the way it should. I asked Linda, the blog owner why I was not able to cut it correctly. She told me to make sure that none of the image is touching the red square. Upon looking at the file, the top part of the circle is touching the red square. I am trying to figure out how to move it. Everytime I click on it, it turns light grey and I cant do anything.
I have been reading up on all of the tutorials I can find (including yours on the photoshop tree!) Nothing seems to mention my problem.
Any help would be appreciated.
BTW...I am in Concord CA. I lived in San Jose when I worked down there!

Re: Red Square
I know exactly what you are saying. I hope I am posting the image correctly, I am new here and trying to figure things out.
Where the top of the honeycomb touches the red box, the cricut will not cut correctly. How do you move the image away from the red square so you can fix this?

Re: Red Square
Hi, I saw that file when it first came through and looked at it in SCAL and saw that the center of the top circle was grey while the outside of both circles were in RED when viewed in Preview Mode. I could tell that all you would get when you cut is two red circles. I don't believe that the fact that the bounding box is touching the circle has anything to do with it not cutting the inside. The problem is the file was not properly prepared in Inkscape for cutting in SCAL.
Then I opened the other file "the nest" one that was posted by mrcolr this is that link (http://forums.surecutsalot.com/viewtopi ... hilit=nest) which I think you have.
In the pix I attached you can see the difference, the "nest" is all red and every red line will cut. The Honeycomb center is grey and will not cut at all. Nothing you can do unless you want to go into Inkscape and try and fix it. I'd just use mrcolr.
So, it is not YOU. I hope this explains it even tho it doesn't fix it.
