I am trying to work out how to crop part of an svg file in SCAL. I purchased a file with 8 different sized petals on the one page and I only want to use one of them for a certain project and enlarge it.
If anyone could let me know how I crop part of an svg file, that would be much appreciated. I'm new to cutting and SCAL. I am using a Black Cat Cougar if that makes any difference.
Thank you
Joey

Re: How to crop part of an SVG file
Hello there
Are you using inkcape or trying to do this in SCAL or some other software.
Whatever software you will usually find that the file is grouped or on layers. Depending on the software you are trying to use will affect the steps so let us know what that is and then it is fairly simple
I would suggest creating a copy of the file then work with the copy - that way you can always revert back to your original file should something go wrong !!!! Go on ask me how I know!
Anyway either by switching off the layer ( usually an eye) next to the ones you dont want or by ungrouping and then hiding the bits you don't want you will get to cut the part you do
Not sure this is very helpful but the thought is there
