Need help trying to find the update for SCAL

I need the SCAL update. I just got an Expressions yesterday & SCAL will not work for it. I had a person tell me to go to the website & download the update, but I can't find anything to download except the SCAL trial version. Can someone please send me a link & help direct me to it? The links I have found in other threads do not work.

Hi

Chances are you need to update the Expressions firware to version 2.3. You probably have 2.0.
To do this you need Cricut DesignStudio software (trial version) from here http://www.cricut.com/cds/
Click on download. They may ask you some details. No problems though.

Updating firmware is easy.
Run Cricut DesignStudio
Click on HELP, then choose UPDATE Cricut Firmware.
Then read the instructions. Follow the 4 Steps. easy

Thanks Craig but no that didn't work. That trial version gave me 2.3 & SCAL is saying I need 2.1 for the Expressions.

To update SCAL go to
http://www.craftedge.com/download/download.html

Click on the "Download" beside either the MacIntosh or Windows version depending on what system you are running.


Whenever SCAL updates a new version you just go to this same place and click on the "Download" and it will update the latest version.

When you go to cut something with SCAL you should get a little pop-up box that says "Please choose the Cricut Machine you are using".

You get the choice then of Cricut Expression, Cricut Personal or Cricut Create, choose Expression, and also it asks for the Firmware Version, 2.1 or 2.3 for the Expression, enter the correct one and then click on ok. If you have the wrong version here I doubt it would cut.

No it won't cut if you don't change from 2.3 to 2.1 as I made the same mistake and didn't notice I had to change the version of the software. Whe I did finally take notice of what it said and changed it, it worked.

The firmware must match what your Expression is running on in this box. I run my Expression on 2.3 and it cuts perfectly.
