Modge Podge
Modge Podge
I have never used Modge Podge but I ned to make some burlap flowers and looks like Modge Podge is best for making my burlap stiff. Does it dry clear? Is there something else that you prefer to make your fabric stiff. The tutorial said to put it on and leave it overnight. That seems a little long to me.

Re: Modge Podge
It does dry clear. And, it does take a while to dry completely. I used it to make some glitter ornaments, and it actually took 2-3 days before it was completely dry and the glitter was completely clear (and not cloudy). And, if you are putting it on burlap and are going to put anything else on it, you want it to be dried or "cured" before placing anything else on it.
It comes in matte and glossy as well, so that's something to think about.

Thank you. Looks like they could make it so it would dry quicker.

Thats interesting about the Mod podge. I've been reading about different projects but what i would like to know is can you put Mod Podge on silk flowers to stiffen them a little? I want to make hair accessories with the silk material from Leis (hawaiann necklaces) that i purchased at my local dollar store. Is this possible? any other suggestions for those type of flowers? Thank you, Jennifer

I do not know how ModgePodge would work but you could try it on one and see what happens. OR you can try the products mentioned in this instructional post.

I have used this stuff for doilies and it works pretty well. I don't remember if maybe humidity can be an issue.
