transfer tape

Post by btails »

hi Friends I am back hopefully for good..missed all of You here..so vinyl and transfer tape are old but stored well in house..cut a nice piece with large items on it and really have no problems with vinyl coming off backing with transfer tape but cut out letters and couldn't get the letters to stick to tape..took 3 different times and had letters on all my fingers... finally cut the peice into strips and had to place letters back on tape...aweful mess..anyone have any ideas to get a better stick on transfer tape and getting them to release from backing..never had this problem years ago..thanks and so glad to be back.. also looking a an intricate cut heart to put on lighted block..thanks guys and girls

Hi btails. Long time no see. Hope life is treating you well. This board has been a little quiet. I bop in every now and again. Regarding your transfer issues, I'm not sure what to say. Believe it or not, I still use clear contact paper for some projects, but they really aren't that intricate. Hopefully someone will be able to give you some good suggestions.

Do you remember Paulo? Well I went to his site and found this heart. Maybe you can use it. Did you try a Google search?

I tried to search on this board, but wasn't sure which key words to use other than heart. Hope you find what you're looking for. :)

Hi Judy, So sorry about your parents. The 3M website says that their transfer tape has a shelf life of 2 years. If your tape isn't sticky enough you might need to buy new. A lot of us just use contact paper. That might be a good option to try instead of paying shipping on new transfer tape.

I have some heart files that you can use for your fundraisers. http://imagesbyheatherm.wordpress.com/2 ... 2-version/

You could also do an image search for "free heart svg" to see if you see anything of interest. https://www.google.com/search?q=heart+s ... 13#imgdii=_

It's adhesive shelf liner. I have some dollar store stuff, and it's usually a bit too sticky so I pat it on my jeans or comforter to make it less sticky (I don't do very much vinyl, some on my kids walls and some for the summer theater fund raiser). Others use the brand name stuff and they say that it isn't as sticky and use it as-is.

Gosh, so sorry to hear about your parents. :( You've been through a lot. I hope things pick up for you.

@ Heather - your heart filigree is beautiful. I don't know how I missed that. Thank you. :)
