I would like to make a sign for outdoors that will be in the elements....... so to speak....... constantly. I live in New England and the weather here changes with the blink of an eye. I have tried checking different websites for the longevity of the vinyl and get about 5 yrs. What I'd like to know is once I cut this and place it on either wood or metal do I have to "seal "it with something??? Or do I just hang the sign and hope the lettering lasts! It's not going to be sheltered by anything like if you were to put it on a porch and had the roof to cover it. TIA It's much appreciated!

Re: Not sure about vinyl
Hello
Over in the Uk we can get a variety of sign vinyl some of which is supposed to last for 10 years - try checking out sign making vinyl shops who stock purpose perfect vinyl - I know some people who have managed to buy off-cuts big enough for their needs. The other thing that you may be able to do is coat it with varnish (on wood ) when finished
I would think after 5 years you may decide you want a change anyway -
Good luck
