I have a plastic Cricut blade holder modified to fit the Cameo, and it uses Roland blades. You can purchase them on Etsy from a person who frequents the MTC forum. They are $35.

The other option is That Scraps Inc.'s Click Blade Holder that uses standard Cougar blades. It's $35.99.

Other blade holders might fit, but they need to be light in weight in order to not slow down the blade holder as it moves back and forth across the paper.

Has anyone tried to use the actual Cricut Expression one in different machines? Just wondering how I can piss off that company more than they already are, since the "Cricut Boycott" from many scrappers and artists (cause that's what we are) many of the smaller cutter companies are really picking up business. Walmart and Michaels in my area have really cut down their ProvoCraft areas. I like to see that we can change the world by spending our $$ elsewhere..
Anyways off my soapbox and back to the Cameo...I am really looking forward to October since they said that would be the delivery date..

Thanks for the info on the blade housings. Decisions, decisions.
@ Jax - I'm a firm believer that there's power in numbers and it can change things for sure. It's unfortunate that PC didn't know how to play nice. I think they shot themselves in the foot. I hope the other companies learn that the "crafting" community can be ferocious when need be.

Re: Cameo cutter question using SCAL3
I wanted to revive this thread just to cover the 3rd party blade holders. Currently no one in the US offers them. I checked with both vendors that I listed previously. Thats Scrapin site sent me an email that they would no longer be offering that item and the Click N Cut person is MIA. I ordered on Dec 17th and to this day still have not received any notifications from that company. I had to file a Paypal refund request to get my monies back because there is no way to contact them.
Now there is one vendor in the UK that sells this carrier but it would be almost $85.00 to get one and this is a bit out of my price range.
I did some research and found instructions on how to turn down the PC plastic carriers so that they would fit the Cameo. Fortunately I have access to someone that has a lathe and was able to create 2 of them for testing. If it works out I would be willing to make them on a per order basis.
Now for the warning...these are PC blade carriers that are made to fit the Cameo, I say this because on another forum someone was making them and didn't disclose this and was basically torn apart to the point that she left the forum never to return...ok that was dramatic but you get the point. I am just a guy that has access to make these and if your interested I would be more than happy to make them available but I don't want the "I hate PC and would not buy them from you, attitude"...if you don't want to buy them then don't but please don't bully me. If there was another vendor that made these I'd be more than willing to use them instead.
