Failed to load the SVG File

I'm using SCAL2 which I just updated to version 2.044. I created a document in Inkscape, clicked on File, Save As, Inkscape *.svg.
When I try to open the SVG in SCAL2 I get the error message "Failed to load the SVG file." The catch is that I can open other SVGs, just
not the ones that I create. Any suggestions for what I am doing wrong?

Col, congratulations on creating your own Inkscape files.

Since you can import other svg files there must be something in the file you created that is keeping it from importing into SCAL.

If you feel comfortable posting the svg file here someone will take a look and figure out what is going wrong.

In INK you need to just do Edit Select All and then Path Combine and save as .svg

Thank you so much. I didn't know about path combine. Is that because it was layered? I appreciate all of your help.

I guess...I just know it has to all be combine instead of in pieces...but technically I do not know why...my actions are like a robot....lol...

if I hear how...I just do it and don't worry about why if it works...sorry for less than perfect answer.

It is because your text is not converted to Path. You can see this if you open the file in Inkscape then select something and look at the message bar at the bottom of the window. It will say you have X objects of type FONT. You can use most of the Path operations to convert the text to a Path. HTH
