Tutorial AI Tracing

Does anyone know of a tutorial that will teach me to use Adobe Illustrator to trace and convert dingbat fonts for use with SCAL??? I am new and completely ignorant of how AI works. I bought the Adobe CS3 and really think I should use it since I paid for it :-)

sizing-inkscape to sca

When I make a project in inkscape, save as svg, then open in SCA it is MUCH larger. Example I made a box 5.5 inches by 1.5 inches. When I opened in SCA it was 48 inches wide! Why the difference? How to I allow for this? TIA

SCA & Mac

I have a Mac & a PC but would rather use the MacBook for my SCA. Is anyone using SCA with a Mac. Any problems? I am playing around with inkscape for Mac and I really like it. My Cricut Expression should be here soon and I want to be ready to play!!
