Computer Crashed License Key Help! (Solved)

Post by Momof2ShihTzus »

My computer crashed yesterday and I had to do a total restore and I lost many important emails including the one
for SCAL 2 with my license information.

Before the restore, I was able to move the SCAL file to my external hard drive and so I am wondering
if my license info would be in any of those files?

I have downloaded a new copy for SCAL 2, is there anyway to retreive my license info?

Mary

Just an update to let you know that Craft Edge emailed me back and I was able to activate SCAL
just a few minutes ago! I am so HAPPY!!
THANK YOU Craft Edge for having such a WONDERFUL PRODUCT and for helping your customer's
when the have a problem!

If you can't find your serial #, go here and request a SN retrieval. http://www.craftedge.com/support/lostserial.php

Thank you, I found that and did retreive my SN. However, when I try to activate in SCAL
it tells me "The registration information you entered is invalid, please try again 2543"

Then, I tried to activate on the CE site and when I try to do that it tells me I have
to many copies registered?? Oh, woe is me!

So, I emailed Todd and hopefully he can help.

If you were able to save SCAL to your hard drive and are able to open it up , do just that, and then hit on the about button.. It will have the license number right there.. Just write it down and when it asks you to activate it.. type in that number.. Or if you saved it and are able to open it in the external it should still be there.. I save mine to a usb stick...That way if my laptop crashes I still have the file saved somewhere... I also transfer my fonts or files on that stick to clear up space on my laptop...

The usb stick you are saving your file right to the stick whereas the dvd you have to burn it... This is your usb stick which plugs into your computer and you can use it to transport files to another location.. No worries about it getting scratched and taking up space..LOL.. I don't like dvds because they tend to scratch too easily...

Thanks, I opened up both SCAL 1 and SCAL2 that I saved on my external drive and both programs want a serial number...go figure??? I am so confused. This whole computer crash has been a nightmare, even with some files backed up it has been the biggest pain in the butt I have ever seen! Hopefully Todd will come to my rescue!
