I've started using SCAL and I can't seem to figure out how to cut out a design in the middle of a shape. For example, if I use a rectangble for a card and want dingbat shape (oval) cut out of the center of the front of the card so the negative space is the oval. I've tried welding but the dingbats don't show as red for cutting when then are on the rectangle.
Can anyone help me?
TIA

Re: Help with SCAL
Sorry I have never welded using SCAL. I have read threads that talked about it but I still use Inkscape to do all my work and import it into SCAL to cut. I don't have much experience with SCAL other than cutting.
Doin the Bug...ain't nothin wrong if you wanna do da Bug all nite long...
Re: Help with SCAL
You don't use the weld function. You open a rectangle deselect it and then open your oval (or whatever shape you want)and place it where you want.Press the view and you will see that both outlines are red.HTH.
Re: Help with SCAL
THANK YOU! I must have had the weld button checked the first time and not realized it because I think I tried to do it that way first. I sure hate it when I make something much harder than I need too LOL
