I recently purchased a Cricut and SCAL and have been searching the internet for svg files ever since. I made a folder on my desktop so that I am able to keep all of these found files organized - folders such as Holiday, Weather, Tags, Flowers, etc. When I am working in SCAL I go to the SVG icon at the top and import the file that I need, which puts it on my cutting mat. At the bottom of my screen is the shapes box that contains the shapes that came with the SCAL. Is there any way to combine these 2 things? I tried to use Lib It Up but was a little disappointed in the fact that if I import a library folder called Holiday and I later find another svg file to add, I can't just add it to the already created library folder, I have to make a new folder to include it... unless I am mistaken.
I am just curious, how do you keep your svg files organized? Is there a better, less confusing way to do it than I am describing above?
Thanks! Mrs.S

Hi Mrs. S - I keep mine organized just as you described in folders called "Christmas" "Frames", etc.
Within those folders I make a note as to where I got them from for future reference.
I don't think there is a way to import those into your shape pallet.

Re: How do you keep your svg files organized?
I have a file called SVG with sub folders listing the various topics, Christmas, Western, Animals, Bugs, etc. For the ones I buy from SVG cuts I let them be their own file listed under SVGs. So far I have 174 files under SVG and oodles of svg's under each of those! More files than I will ever use but ya never know!

One of these days, I will organize mine into separate folders. Right now, they are on two different computers and a Flash Drive.

Unfortunately, I dont think there is a different way, just folders in your computer is the easiest way I know. I was very good at the beginning now I have so
many that they are just all over the place.

Nope, must be another Schwartz - I live in Texas. It's not a very common name, that's interesting!TheresaTT wrote:I need to organize mine. They are just in my SCAL folder. Mrs. S. I have a friend with your last name by marriage. Do you live in Bartlett, TN.

Re: How do you keep your svg files organized?
I keep mine in files labeled with "chirstmas/winter, heart, flourish" etc....just like you said, but I also try to keep a jpeg or screenshot of the file in the same folder so I can see what they are without opening SCAL. Just a thought. I just name them the same thing. Seems to help me know what it what.
Re: How do you keep your svg files organized?
I started keeping mine in folders named from the site from which they were downloaded. I also try to save a picture of the svg for reference. I have a huge folder from myscrapchicks and folders within that folder. That site has quite a few really cute sets and I keep the sets together in folders.
