downloading fonts and images

Post by merniesfabricrafts »

Help! I'm a newbie, and have yet to figure out how to download fonts and/or clipart images from the internet. Where can I find some good tutorials? Thanks.

Heather's site is very informative. She is the most active member of this board, so she is always around to help.

Try http://www.scrappingtable.com/helpwithfonts.html for tuts on installing fonts. One thing to consider is that if you install too many fonts you can run into problems. I only install the fonts that I think I will use often. The rest I put in a separate folder. When I want to use the font, I open the font, leave it open, then open the program I want to use it in. This works for any of the programs I have tried. Also, SCAL (either version) has a font refresh button (circular arrow), so if you don't have to open the font first with SCAL. HTH

Thank you both. I've checked out both websites, and find some very helpful info there. Right now I'm also battling with trying to install inkscape or otherwise figure out how to convert JPEG files to SVG. (It would help if I knew something about computers! ;)
